It is with heavy hearts that Fisher & Sauls, P.A. announces that its senior member, Louie N. Adcock, Jr., died October 11, 2017. Mr. Adcock was a beloved member of Fisher & Sauls for 61 years, a well-respected trusts and estates attorney, a leader in the St. Petersburg Bar Association and the Florida Bar, and a mentor to countless attorneys who had the privilege to practice and interact with him. He will be sorely missed.
Marilyn M. Polson
After 30 years of practicing law with Fisher & Sauls, Marilyn M. Polson has retired as of March 1st, 2018, and has moved to an “of counsel” position with the firm. Marilyn will continue to be associated with Fisher & Sauls, although for the most part, she will no longer be in the office. We will greatly miss Marilyn, but we are excited for her as she begins her retirement!
Erica K. Smith
Erica K. Smith has been selected as the winner of The 2018 Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco Counties) in recognition of her outstanding contribution of pro bono legal services to the poor. She was recognized at the Florida Supreme Court in January.
Laurie Valentine
Laurie Valentine has rejoined the Wills, Trusts and Estates Department of Fisher & Sauls, where she practiced from 1982 to 1993 and was of counsel 1993 to 1999. She will once again concentrate her practice in the areas of planning for federally taxable estates, will and trust preparation, probate and trust administration, planning for children and future generations (both minors and beyond), charitable gift planning, special needs planning, business succession planning, and guardianship.
Erica K. Smith
Erica K. Smith has been accepted into the 2017-2018 class of the Florida Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estates Counsel.
Bruce Marger
Bruce Marger has accepted continued service for 2018 as a legal advisor to the Board of Trustees of the Masonic Home and to the Masonic Grand Lodge of Florida.
Laurie Valentine
Laurie Valentine will present the “Charitable Gift Annuity Basics & Best Practices” breakout session at the American Council on Gift Annuities’ Conference on Charitable Gift Planning in Seattle in April and “Gift Annuity Program Best Practices” at the Planned Giving Group of Greater New York’s Spring Conference in May.
C. Hunter Rawls
Hunter Rawls has been elected as President Elect for the Sunrise Rotary of St. Petersburg. Hunter’s term as President will begin June 2019.
